Disability Volunteering Manual

This manual is designed to assist volunteers with a disability as well as staff and mentors at not-for-profit groups. It was developed by Eastern Volunteers, The Avenue Neighbourhood House and each Social and Community Services as part of a Victorian State Government funded grant in 2011. The manual is based on the NSW Volunteer mentor model 'Side By Side' and contains:
  • Training for volunteers with a disability
  • A manual for not-for-profit groups on how to be inclusive of volunteers with disabilities
  • A manual for someone acting as a mentor to a volunteer with a disability
  • A general disability awareness manual

Victorian Volunteer Portal Best Practice Toolkit

The Victorian Volunteer Portal ("I Can Do That") is a website which allows community groups to recruit volunteers.  It also contains a Best Practice Tookit which contains documents and other resources to enable Volunteer Managers to best manage their volunteer programs. Best Practice Toolkit
